"The book found you, Huxley. It will always find you. And before you, it found your father…"
Welcome to the Black Forest, where fairy tale creatures come to life.
When Huxley moves to the Black Forest, Germany, he hopes to meet some nice, sensible children who enjoy science as much as he does. He also hopes for iced gingerbread and some very fine Frankfurter sausages.
He does not expect to see fairies. Yes, that’s right. Fairies. But not the tree-hugging, flower-wearing glittery story-book kind. No. These fairies are brutal and war-hungry with muscles, scars and weapons.
He also does not expect a mythological mystery involving wolves, magic books and a mysterious figure in a red cape. Or to meet two mad friends who can bend metal and talk to animals. Huxley's new friends tell him that he too has magical powers. Except they're not magical. They're scientific and involve bending atoms with your thoughts…
And it gets worse. Huxley can also see goblins, witches and giant wolves. They lurk beneath Merchenheft town, in the freezing underworld.
If Huxley doesn't solve the mystery, Dark the wolf will break free and devour the sun…
About the Author
Hello book lovers! I hope you're excited to be here, in the world's biggest bookshop. If you're interested in mythological Harry Potter/J.K. Rowling style adventures, give Huxley Sparks a try. He's a little more cynical than Harry Potter, but you would be too if you moved to the Black Forest, Germany and started seeing violent fairies.
